Experience the heart of Chinese seafood cuisine with signature dishes that are both delectable and affordable. Among the favorites mentioned by satisfied diners, the stingray laksa stands out with its rich, spicy broth and tender fish, tantalizing your palate with every bite. Pair this with the highly praised salted egg sotong, where crispy calamari meets the indulgent flavor of salted egg, creating a mouthwatering experience that you won’t soon forget.

The atmosphere at Good Friend Seafood is casual and inviting, perfect for a laid-back evening with family or friends. While some reviews mention the service can be a bit slow, the consensus is clear: the quality of the food more than makes up for it. Customers like John Ang and SC Puah have praised the restaurant for not only its delightful seafood but also for its budget-friendly prices, making it an ideal choice for those looking to enjoy a scrumptious meal without breaking the bank. In fact, a group of four enjoyed a lavish feast of seven dishes for a mere RM138!

As you dine, take in the breathtaking views of the sunset over the beach, as noted by SC Puah, which adds a magical quality to your dining experience. While ambiance is more relaxed than refined, many patrons, including Xola, recommend visiting the restaurant before 5:30 PM to secure a table and experience both the food and the sunset in its full glory. The influx of customers after this time speaks volumes about the restaurant’s popularity—proof that once you try it, you’ll be eager to return.

Besides the tantalizing seafood options, the restaurant also features a satay stall that has been hailed as one of the best in Penang, an enticing addition to your dining adventure. Whether you’re a local craving a taste of home or a traveler on the hunt for authentic fare, Good Friend Seafood offers an unforgettable blend of flavors that showcases the rich culinary heritage of Malaysia.

Was recommended to visit Good Friend Seafood restaurant by the staff of the batik painting workshop we did. He suggested to be at the restaurant before 5.30pm to beat the crowd. Indeed when we left at 7pm, the whole place was filled up with customers. The service and food was really good. Love the stingray laksa & the salted egg sotong! Thumbs up!! Do not expect posh ambience however be amazed by the beautiful sunset views that’s surrounding the restaurant. Restaurant is located inside a small lane, can be hard to locate.

The fried fish is over a bit n very dry. Vegetables and fried chicken are nice. It's a great environment with a beautiful scene. Pls find a table with a fan if u are an easy sweat. Service is slightly slow if during peak hours time, this is understandable. The price for seafood is slightly above average. Besides seafood such as taufu chicken or vegetable, the price is average. Satay is delicious and recommended but belongs to another hawker next to this shop.
